Let’s be clear: Africa is a very wealthy Continent. The Most High has blessed every State with abundant levels of Natural Resources. However, it is well-known that African people are “Poor by Design.” Africa has immense wealth that spreads throughout the continent. Africa’s wealth extends from the North to the South and from the East to the West.
The abundance of Natural Resources that Africa inherited must be used as the engine to ignite the economic growth of all African countries. Leaders unwilling to use these resources for the betterment of the African people must step aside and bring forth the natural leaders, not the appointed leaders, not the chosen leaders, but the leaders that are the people LEADERS. The leaders have one objective: to improve the quality of life for all BLACK AFRICAN PEOPLE.
Paradoxically, the continent of Africa has some of the economically poorest countries in the world while, conversely, having the most abundant natural resources in the world. One prominent case study is the Nation of Niger. Niger is considered one of the world’s poorest countries but has one of the world’s most significant deposits of very valuable yellow-cake uranium.
There are two uranium mines in Niger – SOMAIR, an open pit mine, and COMINAK, the largest underground uranium mine in the world, both owned by a French-led consortium and operated by French interests? The U.N. resolutions that give Africa “Permanent Sovereignty Over Natural Resources” must be enforced. The material wealth produced from Niger’s uranium mines belongs to the PEOPLE OF Niger, period!
Additionally, African nations must immediately cut the historical colonial yoke from around their collective necks. We must determine when and how Niger’s uranium mines came under French control. Who is responsible for signing the contracts that effectively put the natural resource of Niger in the French’s hands? Lastly, why aren’t they benefitting from their resources?
The U.N. General Assembly adopted Resolution 1803 (XVII), 2625 (XXV), 2158 (XXI), Resolution 3281, resolution 2158 (XXI), 2386 (XXIII) 3016 (XXVII) (etc.) Permanent Sovereignty Over Natural Resources and the Sanctity of Contract guarantees the inherent right of the people of a state “to freely use and exploit their natural wealth for their benefit.”
As stated above, African people are “Poor by Design.” Case in point: the world community is shamelessly aware that the Russian Wagner Group, a notoriously violent Russian Mercenary group, operates in several African countries with abject impunity. In every African State where the Wagner Mercenaries operate, they ROB the people of the “Permanent Sovereignty Over Natural Resources.” It is also a fact that individual African Dictators and other state actors benefit from the presence of the Russian Wagner Group.
Russia’s Wagner Mercenary group is involved in almost every military conflict on the continent of Africa. Since its 2017 arrival on the African continent, the Wagner Mercenaries have set-back African countries’ economic and social growth by years. They have done nothing to improve the quality of life for Africans. Their activities have served to strengthen dictators, destabilize democracies; perpetrate and intensify civil conflicts; murder innocent civilians, and exploit
Africa’s Natural Resources Are Not for Russia’s Gain
More importantly, documented evidence shows that the Wagner Mercenaries continue to commit widespread, wicked, and unchecked human rights abuses. Documented abuses include extrajudicial executions, genocidal mass rapes, and brutal human torture. Develop nations that consider themselves to be civilized and have a unique set of beliefs and values regarding right and wrong have a moral obligation to put an end to the Wagner Mercenaries’ atrocities against African peoples. Although Wagner’s leader Prigozhin, led his gang of thugs in a march on Moscow against the Putin regime, “Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that Wagner would still operate in Africa.”
The sinister Russian mercenary Wagner group reportedly operates in Libya, Mozambique, Sudan, the Central African Republic, and Mali. “Mercenaries from the Russian Wagner Group have repeatedly committed serious human rights violations against civilians in the Central African Republic, among other places, according to the United Nations document.”
Moreover, mercenary groups in several African countries are amassing more significant legislative, economic, and national security power, threatening various countries’ sovereignty.
“In January 2023, the U.S. government designated Wagner as a significant transnational criminal organization.” The U.S., the U.N., and every entity above must take the next step and designate the Wagner as an international terrorist organization, freeze their assets, and eliminate them from the continent. Congressman Steven Horsford, chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, must lead the effort to Get Russia’s Wagner Mercenaries the Hell Out Of Africa!
Today’s African leaders and future leaders must READ this Book: “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man.” Author John Perkins writes, “Economic Hit Men are highly paid professionals fraudster manipulates countries out of trillions of dollars derive from Africa’s Natural Resources.” Their tools include fraudulent financial reports, rigged elections, payoffs, extortion, sex, and murder.”
