The conservative Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court have, remarkably, brought together progressive democrats and the nation’s police officers. What brought these two groups together was the Supreme Court’s recent overturn of an ATF regulation of a “bump stock” device that turns a semi-automatic rifle into a machine gun, generally prohibited under federal law. The bump stock device increases the shooter’s ability to kill! As of May 31, 2024, “there have been 225 mass shootings in the United States, resulting in 318 fatalities and 836 injuries.”
