Israel representatives are coming to America to lobby U.S. Congress members to vote against the landmark Iranian Nuclear Deal between Five Permanent Members of the UN Security Council (U.S., England, Russia, China, and France) plus Germany. The DEAL with Iran was signed last week and the United Nations Security Council approved the accord on Monday, July 20th.
It appears that the Israel government has more power over U.S. elected officials than our President and the American people who voted them into office! Israel, a U.S. ally, and major recipient of U.S. foreign aid is sending representatives to intervene in ongoing political debates regarding the Iranian‘s Nuclear Deal. Israel is partnering with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the principal lobbying group that is said to have committed $50M to campaign against the Iran Nuclear Deal.
U.S. Speaker of the House, Republican John Boehner, a primary recipient of AIPAC funding, has pledged to do everything possible to stop the globally accepted Iran Nuclear Deal. US President Barack Obama “took a swipe at the money” and “the lobbyists” being marshaled by opponents of the popular nuclear deal with Iran. The majority of American people, ever since the media-driven war with Iraq, have shown tremendous frustration with US involvement in Middle East wars. A recent Washington Post/ABC News poll shows that “6 in 10 Americans support a plan to lift international economic sanctions against Iran in exchange for limits on its nuclear program.”
I absolutely support President Obama’s call for voters to contact their Congressperson to encourage them to vote for this historic nuclear deal. We must make sure that our Congressional Representatives realize that the American people’s interest must take credence over all others interest. You and I have an obligation and opportunity to be on the right side of history. We must be proactive and speak up and speak out demanding that our representative support our interest over that of corporate lobbyist and big money donors.
