Below is a historical precedence for the payment of Reparations.
First and foremost, we will never forget the horrific, barbaric, and inhumane psychological and physical damaged that our forefathers and mothers had to endure during Trans-Atlantic slave trade from Slavery from 1619 to 1865. Black people were kidnapped, shackled, shipped, auctioned, imprisoned, tortured, raped, lynched and legally forced into illiteracy, poverty and second-class citizenship.
African-American/Blacks will hold the American Government, Shipping companies, major corporate interest, insurance companies, identified families, and all others that were involved in the vicious demonic enterprise of enslavement of our people without exception!
REPARATIONS: There is a global awareness that addressing past injustice is a crucial part of the process of healing and reconciliation. I obtained the information below that revealed during World War II when France was under Nazi occupation, the French rail company Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer, (SNCF), transported thousands of French Jews to Nazi concentration camps. The article also said, “The French government has paid out more than $6 billion in reparations.”
Additionally, recently, there have been talks between the United States and France on compensation for SNCF deportation victims and their families.
The African-American community applauds the fact that reparations have been paid and are still being paid to members of the Jewish community that were victimized by the shocking, horrendous, evil acts committed against innocent people during World War II.
Forcing nations and institutions that were complicit in the Holocaust; as in the case mentioned above as well as other documented cases, continue to give the African-American/Black communities and people of African descent from around the world confident that reparations for the suffering endured by our ancestors will be realized.
It is a fact that the enslavement of African-American/Blacks, also known as the “The Peculiar Institution, “endured longer than the tragedies suffered by any other group. Let us be clear, the remnants of enslavement, known as “post traumatic slave disorder” negatively impact the lives of African-American/Blacks to this day
The years of stealing African people, stealing our labor, forced human breeding, horrendous living conditions, vicious rape of Black men, women, and children, hanging, and the vicious beatings that visited Africans in America at the hands of their controllers are no myths, they are historical facts.
One thing that must be established as a universal point of humanity is, no one group’s suffering carries a higher value, has greater weight, more relevant, or more important than any other group. As far as African-Americans are concern, there is documented evidence of the disproportional levels of suffering our people experienced in the past and still experience to this day.
Most of the problems that African-Americans face in this country and around the world lead us directly back to the institution of slavery, actions of white supremacy and to those that covertly and overtly benefited from white privilege. “The enslavement of African people in the Americas by the nations and peoples of European ancestors created the economic engine that funded modern capitalism.” It is well documented that American corporations benefited from the enslavement of African people both in the north and south from New England to New Orleans and beyond.
The list of corporations and banking institutions that traded in human capital and benefited from the enslavement of Black People is enormous: N M Rothschild & Sons Bank in London, New York Life Insurance Company, JPMorgan Chase, Lehman Brothers, Brooks Brothers, Norfolk Southern, the Canadian National Railway Company, Brown Brothers Harriman Banking, Barclays Banking, U.S. Life insured the FleetBoston Financial, the railroad firm CSX and the Aetna insurance company is just a tiny few of companies that will directly owe reparation to African-American/Blacks and other people of African ancestry.
As I said at the beginning of this article, the U.S. State Department, at this moment, is in talks with the French railway company Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Français (SNCF) regarding Holocaust reparations. State and Federal governmental entities are holding SNCF accountable for its horrific Holocaust-era actions. Assemblyman Weprin said, “we applaud Maryland, federal legislators, and the other states that have taken action to hold SNCF accountably.”
He further said, “We are honored to stand shoulder to shoulder with them in pursuit of justice for these Holocaust survivors and their families.” For years, governments from around the world have paid Israel for slave labor and for the persecution of Jews during the Holocaust as they should.
This is a wonderful demonstration of what happens when people are respected and their lives valued. African-American/Blacks and others decedents of Africa will continue to demand reparation for the dreadful treatment of our ancestors. We have observed the unabated efforts and the tremendously successful strategies used by the Jewish community toward making their people whole. We would greatly appreciate their support in our effort to obtain social and economic justice for People of African descent as well.
The following institutions were/are major players that profited from the inhumanity of abduction of human being from Africa. The following entities benefitted from the abduction of African people which culminated into what is known as the Middle Passage and the horrors of enslavement: Traders, Bankers, businessmen, insurance companies, railway companies and others are well known. There are several entities that have yet to be identified; however, documentation as to their identity is available. People of good will from around the world must come forward and bring this unprecedented stain on humanity to a just and respectful end.
Case In Point: ” In a notorious case, the famous schooner-yacht Wanderer, pride of the New York Yacht Club, put into Port Jefferson Harbor in April 1858 to be fitted out for the slave trade. Everyone looked the other way — which suggests this kind of thing was not unusual — except the surveyor of the port, who reported his suspicions to the federal officials. The ship was seized and towed to New York, but her captain talked (and possibly bought) his way out and was allowed to sail for Charleston, S.C. ” The Wanderer last shipment from Africa had 600 blacks, of which only 465 survived, is generally called the last shipment of slaves to arrive in the United States.
FACT: Mass enslavement of African-Americans/Blacks still exists in America in part through the proliferation of the Private Prison Industrial Complex. The private industrial complex is “buying prisoners in exchange for provisions, including guaranteeing to maintain a 90% occupancy rate for at least 20 years. Private prisons, just like enslavement/slavery, have no place in any modern progressive, civilized society. How long will we the people continue to “see no evil, hear no evil, or speak no evil” and allow the private prison industry to suck the life blood out of our citizens? This kind of travesty also must end and end soon!
In Closing: it is clear that collectively, the African-American community has not been as aggressive as what is required to settle the issue of reparations. Moreover, far too many African-Americans are not aware that the honorable and courageous Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) “has been introducing legislation “bill H.R. 40 “to examine the lingering effects of slavery and the case for reparations in every congressional session since 1989. In every session, his bill fails to win a hearing. ”
If you are reading this blog, you are now one of those who know. It is the duty of every African-American/Black in this nation to join the fight and express our full support for Rep. Conyers bill H.R. 40. Twenty-Five years is far too long for justice. Therefore, we should immediately seek the expertise of African-American/Black Information Technology (IT) specialists and start a massive social media campaign in support of Rep. John Conyers bill H.R. 40.
African-American/Blacks (AABs) deserve and demand reparations because the oppression our ancestors were “systematic, unrelenting, and authorized at the highest level of the U.S. government. AABs were oppression as a group and enslavement of was practiced by a large segment of the U.S. population.
It is an abomination that African-American/Blacks, to this day, have never been compensated for our human and material losses due to white racism. As I stated before, African-American/Blacks Will Not Allow Reparations To Be Racialized! Please view this extremely important video below.
